Realism

Jack London uses a lot of realism in the story To Build a Fire. The way he uses realism is when the guy is out by himself and his face starts to get all numb because of the cold. I think this is a form of realism because to certain people today it happens, their faces get numb and some even get frostbite as well. When he is on his way back to meet up with the boys and he's walking and his nose, ears and cheeks start to get numb and he rubs them, people in the real world do this when it's really cold. Throughout the whole story a lot of realism is used and one of the examples that stand out to me is the one about the numbness feeling.
